Last week, Yahoo placed a story about the burgeoning friendship of a dog and fawn.

These stories sometimes prove to be too syrupy for words; so I re-interpreted the photograph.
I had decided that I wouldn’t post it because it was a bit strange.
Then I read  a story which easily trumped my cartoon with a shovel full of reality.

A charge of animal abuse has been filed against a woman, 75, who allegedly beat a fawn to death with a shovel. The fawn was in her flower bed.

Animal Control Warden Ann Mills signed a warrant last week against Dorothy Richardson of Waynoka Road in the city’s Indian Hills neighborhood, where deer frequently come and go.
