Katrina demonstrated the need for a homeland guard to aid in time of crisis. Sadly, that noble cause has expanded into foreign expeditionary assigments. During my college years, I had always thought the expression, “Don’t Trust Anyone over Thirty” was foolish. Now, this latest program certainly adds a sheen of veracity to the advisory statement.

But these enthusiasts aren’t about to join the military. They’re principals, teachers, coaches and mentors — people who New Jersey military recruiters believe hold the key to getting more high school students interested in the armed forces.’
