BALTIMORE — Gov. Robert Ehrlich returned more than $540,000 in political contributions to the Republican Party after state elections officials discovered that a federal account was used to funnel funds to his re-election campaign.

Has to pony up $90G more for wife’s rides

State Controller Alan Hevesi isn’t just ethics-challenged - he’s apparently math-challenged as well.

Hevesi had to return another $90,000 to taxpayers yesterday after a review by the state attorney general’s office found he badly miscalculated how much he owed the state after the “Driving Mrs. Hevesi” scandal.

Hevesi had previously forked over $82,688 - a number he arrived at himself - to cover the salary of a state-paid staffer who chauffeured his ailing wife for three years.
